A Little About Myself

As long as I can remember, my life has been devoted 100% to animals, starting as a shy child with animals for friends to incorporating animals into every high school project, to a Bachelors degree in Veterinary and Animal Science from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. My love of animals was never just limited to the cute and fuzzy, I love and have devoted my time to learning about every family of animals that I possibly could. I've studied salamanders as an intern at the E.N. Huyck Preserve and Biological Research Station. My love of learning has always driven me to learn what more I could accomplish that would be of benefit to the animals I would come in contact with through life. I became certified in Equine Sports Massage Therapy in 2003 by Equissage Inc. in Virginia with Mary Schreibaer. I have been deeply involved in the horse industry for 25 years. I loved my time training young horses, horse breeding and sales, and I loved the long hours of horse care, itself. I spent most of my younger years working at large horse farms and had my hand in a bit of everything. Later, I started working with laboratory animals. I loved the expertise, attention to detail, understanding of animal behavior and a natural ability with animals that this animal career path required. I became certified as a Laboratory Animal Technologist, working in both industry and academia for 8 years until it became too difficult to do right by animals and myself when working for others with other interests dictating the business. I left the "rat race" in 2016 to start my own animal care business. The rest is history!
